It was in early October of 2007 in Sri Lanka. The average temperature was
about 27 degrees in the daytime, and the night temperature was
also very high, over than 20 degrees! However, the
hotness was still severe in Japan, though, it was in
the late summer, so I didn't feel very
hot. |
I went to Sri Lanka
alone. The trip was for installation and trial
operation of a portable crushing plant SNP150M3JCS. I
had not had an overseas business trip for a long time,
so I felt I needed some time to get used to the job there. |
The job was frequently
interrupted due to rainy season. The communication
with Indonesian local staffs was difficult, we could not
understand each other very well because of language barrier. The spicy foods also annoyed me. In addition,
comparing with the working situation in Japan, some
Indonesian staffs even were wearing sandals while
working! They spent much more time to install
machines, even to install a set of conveyer. However, at the end
of October, we completed the installation and did the
trial operation at last. When I saw aggregates were
produced by the plant, I was so relieved, I
even felt all hardship was gone in a second! |
I have had overseas
business trips several times so far. Every trip
brought
me new discoveries that I am not able to have in
Japan. I hope younger staffs in my company will make
much overseas working experience like I made. |
